Commissions

Whether it's a treat for yourself or as a gift for someone else, there is nothing better than knowing the piece commissioned is an utterly unique and personal artwork.

Clarissa is happy to accept commissions and can supply wonderful results in any chosen size and medium. Unlike other artists, she is not limited to any one media and can work in oil, acrylic, watercolour, pencil and pastel to the same high standard maximising the options available to you. Pets, portraits, houses - even a yacht, all have been completed highly successfully. Because her artworks are quite diverse and every commission different, it is best to email or phone her to get a detailed quote.

After discussing your requirements in depth she will ideally like to visit the subject in person to ensure accurate rendition of colouring and personality. She has always enjoyed meeting people and has particular affinity with the more difficult subjects such as animals and children which is vital in helping her subjects relax so that their most natural likeness can be captured. A photo session can take place in the location of your choice or at her studio. If a visit is not possible due to the 'surprise' element of gifts or because the subject is too far away, then she is happy to work with photos supplied.

Keen to ensure the best results she makes sure each customer is given her undivided attention and the results are to both parties complete satisfaction. As a professional she would not take on a commission for which she could not be fully confident of producing an excellent result.

When supplying photographs: Tips for animals: For the best results with animals Clarissa recommends taking shots ¾ on, and from the same height as them. A zoom lens is recommended as the animal gets less distracted by the camera. Take the photo in good light and never use flash as this tends to highlight the eyes and distorts the colours. A series of photographs is preferable to get the best idea of colouring and personality. If you use a digital camera, the higher the resolution the better.

Framing: Framing can be arranged at additional cost if required.

Financial Arrangements: A 50% deposit, along with the travel expenses if relevant, is required upon the commissioning of the portrait to secure a place in her schedule. Travel expenses whenever possible will be shared between more than one commission in any given area. Final payment is due upon delivery of the portrait.
